👋🏼 Hi there, I’m Shu Xie!
I am an evolutionary biologist interested in biodiversity dynamics on macro eco-evolutionary scales. I have recently completed my PhD at the University of Groningen, under the supervision of Prof. Rampal Etienne and Dr. Luis Valente.
I am passionate about using theoretical models to unravel the complexities of ecological and evolutionary processes and contribute to our understanding of the mechanisms driving the incredible diversity. I am currently working on a trait-dependent island biogeography framework and applying this framework to empirical data (e.g., New Zealand birds) to help explain the biodiversity patterns and trait evolution on islands.
